Product Info

  • This is a trekking tour that covers the entire Shiretoko Goko Lakes area, including the elevated wooden paths, located within the special protection zone of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, Shiretoko National Park. This is Japan's first groundbreaking forest adventure experience, guided by a licensed professional in an area inhabited by brown bears. Beyond the lakes, you can observe nature that changes with the seasons, including Ezo deer, red foxes, wild birds, alpine plants, and autumn foliage. Since no feeding is involved, all the creatures you encounter are genuine wild animals. Roads and walking paths may be closed due to brown bear sightings, snow accumulation, or storms. If a closure is known in advance, we will contact you via your mobile device and offer a free cancellation, an alternative course (at the same price), or a different date/time as you prefer. If a closure occurs after you have arrived at the site, we will guide you on an available alternative course (at the same price) for the remaining time. Please contact us if you would like a time not listed in the selection options.
  • ☆A quiet tour with a guide and a limit of 10 people☆彡
  • Due to the Natural Parks Act, there is a limit of 10 people per tour from 5/10 to 7/31, allowing you to experience the quiet forest and lakes. We walk 3 km over 3 hours at a leisurely pace, leaving plenty of time for photos, making it suitable for seniors and children. If international guests participate, the guide will be provided in both Japanese and English. You might even get to interact with international guests or practice your English.
  • ☆The price includes admission fees, lecture fees, consumption tax, and rentals for binoculars and boots☆彡
  • This is not a complex pricing structure with various additional fees after booking; the price includes admission fees, lecture fees, and consumption tax. The guide will also handle complex admission procedures on your behalf. If you provide your size in advance, we can provide free rentals for rain boots and binoculars.
  • ☆Guided tour by a licensed Shiretoko Goko Lakes registered guide☆彡0 Plan Features 3 Titles
  • You will be guided by a Shiretoko Goko Lakes registered guide who has passed various exams, including first aid and how to deal with brown bear encounters. Walking paths may be closed in case of danger, such as storms. If a closure is known in advance, we will offer a free cancellation or an alternative course (at the same price) as you prefer. If a closure occurs after the walk has started, we will guide you on an available alternative course (at the same price) for the remaining time.

Questions regarding reservations:

  • Question 1: We will be applying for entry into the special protected area, so please provide the names, genders, and ages of the participants.

Regarding the cancellation of the event:

  • Roads and trails may be closed due to bear sightings, heavy snowfall, storms, etc. If we know in advance that a closure is imminent, we will contact you by mobile phone and offer you the option of cancellation (refund), an alternative course, or a different date and time, if you prefer. If a closure occurs after you have met at the location, we will offer you an alternative course (at the same price) that is possible with the remaining time. Important notes regarding course participation:

  • This tour is for people aged 7 to 69. The hike covers approximately 3 km of mountain trail, including stone steps, and is scheduled to take 2 hours and 40 minutes. There is a time limit, so you cannot walk at a leisurely pace. This is a challenging course and may not be suitable for those who cannot climb or descend stairs, or those who require walking sticks or poles. If anyone is unable to complete the hike within the time limit, the tour will be stopped and rescue will be requested for safety reasons. Healthy participants are required to exit the trail with everyone else; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Bringing food is not permitted. Water is permitted. Please be aware if you require blood sugar control. There are no restrooms along the route. The use of portable toilets or adult diapers is permitted. Individuals with exceptional physical fitness, such as those who have been athletes since their youth, may be able to participate even if they are over 70 years old. Please inquire in such cases.

Reminders

  • Participant age: 7 to 69 years old

  • What to wear and bring: Please wear shoes and clothing suitable for outdoor activities. If it rains, we recommend a rain suit rather than an umbrella.

  • Rental equipment: If you let us know your size by the day before, we can rent you boots for free, sizes 14-28cm.

  • Notes on required time: The basic time is 3 hours, but the final elevated boardwalk is an area you can walk on at your leisure, so if you are in a hurry due to bus schedules or other reasons, you can leave the tour and return about 20 minutes earlier.

  • Minimum number of participants: 1 person
