  • Enjoy the Kawazu cherry blossoms for a full two hours

Kawazu cherry blossoms are early-blooming cherry trees that begin to bloom in early February and were discovered in Kawazu Town in 1955. Taking advantage of Izu's warm climate and its early blooming characteristics, they reach full bloom in about a month. The flowering season is usually from early February to early March. They are in full bloom for about a week to 10 days, but even if they are not in full bloom, you can still enjoy viewing Kawazu cherry blossoms as long as they are at least 50-60% in bloom.

Approximately 850 cherry trees bloom along the Kawazu River, bringing the total number of cherry trees to approximately 8,000.

  • We will also guide you to the Kappa Temple, Seisokuji Temple.

The Zen temple, Hougisan Seisokuji, is an ancient temple with a history of 700 years. It is also known as the Kappa Temple, and is home to many legends and artifacts related to kappa. The beautiful ceiling painting is thought to date back to the Edo period.
