Product Info

- Store Introduction -
Established in 1932. Enjoy our signature whole grilled eel at 'Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa,' which carries on the tradition of a long-standing eel wholesaler.

You can savor Kansai-style charcoal-grilled eel in a traditional Kyoto townhouse dating back to the early Meiji period. We are also available for special occasions such as business dinners, family introductions, longevity celebrations, and 'Okuizome' (first meal ceremony). 【Notice Regarding Service Charge】 Starting September 1, 2026 (Tue), a 10% service charge will be applied to all dine-in meals. We will continue to strive to create a store that satisfies everyone, and we appreciate your understanding.
Our commitment is based on our reliable "eye for quality" as a long-established wholesaler that has been in business for over 90 years, our "standpoint" as a storage facility for eels that has been passed down from generation to generation, our management methods and "cutting" at each store that bring out the best in the ingredients, our "grilling" that brings out the perfect three elements of crispy skin, soft meat, and melty fat, our secret "sauce" that has been protected since our founding, and our Shigaraki ware "tableware" that is worthy of our proud flavor. In addition, we also have our own commitment unique to Kyoto Gion, such as our original blend of rice, bonito broth, and handmade Kyoto pickles.

3 minutes from Gion-Shijo Station. You can come to the restaurant from either Shinbashi-dori or Shirakawa-suji. The restaurant has a charming, modest appearance that allows you to fully experience the Kyoto atmosphere. Two Kyoto townhouses built in the early Meiji period, over 100 years old, have been transformed into one restaurant. There is also a courtyard, so you can enjoy your meal while taking in the view outside. We aim to be a restaurant that continues to be loved by tourists as well as locals of Kyoto.

Delicious food goes well with delicious alcohol. We have a wide selection, including wine, which is surprisingly said to go well with Japanese food, as well as standard beer, shochu, sake, sour drinks, and whiskey. The tea served is roasted green tea from Kyoto. We are also currently producing a special sake for Kikugawa. We value the story behind our dishes, having been involved from the rice planting stage onwards. We will be adding new items to our menu in the future, so stay tuned!

We also offer kaiseki courses suitable for special occasions and various banquets. For lunch, the popular "Gion Kikugawa Kaiseki" (6,500 yen) features carefully selected eel dishes and seasonal ingredients. For dinner, in addition to the Gion Kikugawa Kaiseki, Hinagiku Kaiseki, and Ogiku Kaiseki, we recommend the specialty "Unagi Shabu-shabu Kaiseki" (14,000 yen), which features plump eel and fragrant Kyoto vegetables. How about a meal to spend a special day with someone special?
