Ranua Resort - Arctic Glass Igloos
The Arctic Glass Igloos are located on the peaceful shores of Lake Ranuanjärvi, about 6km from the main Resort, far from any light pollution. The Igloos are in two rows so that each Igloo has an unobstructed view across the open lake to the far-reaching Northern horizons.
A night in a Glass Igloo is a once in a lifetime experience, and you are warmly welcome to spend an unforgettable luxury night under the starry sky of Ranua! The Glass Igloos are well-equipped and each has its own kitchenette, sauna, shower and toilet. The entrance, toilet, sauna and bathroom are in the wooden part of the Igloo, facing the forest, and the bedroom area has glass walls. The heating of the glass panels prevents fogging and the accumulation of snow, so the views are unhindered all-year-round.
GLASS IGLOOS
In total 20 Glass Igloos; 10 Twin Igloos for 1-2 persons and 10 Lakeside Igloos for 2+2 persons (extra beds only for children). Twin Igloos are located in the upper row and Lakeside Igloos next to the lake.

Snowmobile Safari to Reindeer Farm
- Departure daily: 10:00
- Length of tour: 3.5 hours
- Suitability: Children over 3 years old
This snowmobile takes you to a reindeer farm where you’ll get to learn about the fascinating world of Lappish culture and reindeer husbandry.
Husky Safaris 30 mins
This husky safari is suitable for all ages and the program starts with a driving instruction. One of the adults works as the driver, while the other enjoys the ride and the beautiful scenery of nature while sitting in the sleigh. Children get on the same sled as adults.
The route is 5km long, and it runs in the middle of the forest, around Ranua Wildlife Park. After the ride, you can pet the huskies as a thank you for the safari.
Northern Lights Safari with Finn Horse

- Length: 2 Hours
This atmospheric two-hour evening ride is suitable for all ages. Get on the sled, sit comfortably and relax to the sound of the sleigh bells as the journey takes you into snowy nature. During the trip, we stop to enjoy the peace of nature by a blazing campfire with warm beverages.
If the odds are in our favour, you will be indulged with one of the amazing natural phenomena in the world: the northern lights. In winter, the temperature can drop rapidly, which is why, the weather limit for the activity is -28 degrees.

- For Snowmobile Safari to Reindeer Farm, it includes: Thermal outfit, guidance in English, snowmobiling 2 persons / snowmobile, fuel, traffic insurance, hot beverages, Lappish traditional flatbread, reindeer sleighride 300m.
- Please note: Each snowmobile is shared by two guests taking turns in driving. The driver of the snowmobile has to be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license in Finland. Driving a motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating drugs is strictly prohibited by the laws of Finland.
- For Snowmobile Safari: Children are seated in a sled pulled by a snowmobile driven by the guide. Children over 140 cm in height are allowed to sit on the snowmobile behind an adult, when paying the adult price. Ranua Resort reserves the right to deny the participation of small children due to safety reasons (e.g. demanding weather or trail conditions).
- For Snowmobile Safari: Self liability can be reduced to 150€by paying waiver supplement 15€ per safari driver (maximum personal liability 980€).
- For Snowmobile Safari: Please take your driving license with you as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari.
- Please note that the packages are free to cancel 30 days prior to the go date. However, there will be a surcharge of EUR 15 handling fee.

Travelers with the following conditions or other health issues that could be worsened by excessive stimulation should not participate in this activity: High blood pressure, Heart disease, Acrophobia, Asthma, Epilepsy, Pregnant women
Some of the activities are depending on the weather and snow conditions. If for some reason it is not possible to carry out the activity or part of it due to weather or snow conditions, Ranua Resort reserves the right to carry out the program in a modified form.
If the weather or snow conditions does not allow for example the use of a sled or a snowmobile, the sled can be replaced with the summer equipment and the snowmobile can be replaced with a car.
Please note that if it is not possible to carry out the activity at all due to weather or snow conditions, Ranua Resort will offer to change the activity to the different day or to negotiate a possible refund with the tour operator.
Ranua Resort will make the final timing and timetables and provide the schedule on the day when customer is checking in. Ranua Resort reserves the right to make changes for your timing and timetable's if necessary.
