Please restart your phone and go to the Cellular Data page to check whether the eSIM has been linked to your phone, or contact customer service for assistance. Do not scan other QR codes without authorization as this may cause double linking and invalidate the eSIM

Yes, the Japan eSIM is primarily designed for high-speed internet access. It provides 5G/4G data connectivity across Japan, supported by major carriers like Rakuten, SoftBank, and Docomo. You can choose from various data plans, including daily, total, or unlimited options for up to 30 days, catering specifically to your internet usage needs during your trip. It also supports effortless hotspot sharing.
One primary consideration for a Japan eSIM is device compatibility; your smartphone must support eSIM technology. Additionally, the initial activation often requires a stable internet connection, which might be a challenge if you don't have Wi-Fi upon arrival. Unlike physical SIM cards, eSIMs cannot be easily transferred between devices, and some users might find troubleshooting unfamiliar without a physical card to check.
The Japan eSIM provides high-speed 5G/4G internet by leveraging the networks of major local carriers like Rakuten, SoftBank, and Docomo. Once activated, your device connects to these networks digitally. You select a data plan (daily, total, or unlimited) that determines your data allowance and validity period. This digital connection allows for quick, stable internet access and supports functionalities like hotspot sharing without needing a physical SIM card.
Yes, the Japan eSIM is designed to offer stable and reliable 5G/4G high-speed internet connectivity throughout Japan. It utilizes the robust networks of three major local carriers: Rakuten, SoftBank, and Docomo. This multi-network support helps ensure broad coverage and consistent performance, allowing you to stay connected whether you are in urban centers or exploring more remote areas.
Yes, typically an existing internet connection (either Wi-Fi or another active cellular connection) is required to download and activate the Japan eSIM profile onto your device. This connection is necessary for your device to retrieve the eSIM data from the provider's servers. It's recommended to complete the activation process before you depart or upon arrival at a location with stable Wi-Fi.
After activating your Japan eSIM, ensure mobile data is enabled for the eSIM profile in your phone's settings. You may also need to configure the Access Point Name (APN) settings, though this is often automatic. Select the eSIM as your primary line for cellular data. If traveling internationally, remember to turn on data roaming for the eSIM. Your device should then automatically connect to one of the supported local networks like Rakuten, SoftBank, or Docomo.
If your Japan eSIM internet isn't working, first check if mobile data is enabled for the eSIM profile and that data roaming is on. Try restarting your phone, which can often resolve minor connectivity issues. Verify that your device's APN settings are correct. You can also manually select a different network operator from the supported carriers (Rakuten, SoftBank, Docomo) in your phone's settings. Ensure your data plan has not expired or run out of data.
The Japan eSIM offers flexible data plans tailored to different travel needs. You can choose from daily data plans, which reset allowance each day; total data plans, providing a fixed amount of data for the entire validity period; or unlimited data plans, offering continuous high-speed access. These plans are available for durations of up to 30 days.
