Product Info

-What you can expect-
Did you visit historic Berlin sites and noticed the little traffic around you? Did you see just a handful of Berliners around Unter den Linden or Potsdamer Platz? This unique tour was created to address the perplexities aroused by a polycentric city, one which hides a peculiar way of life behind the seemingly cold facades of a northern Europe capital. In fact, the everyday life of Berliners cannot be seen at first glance: you must know the hidden places that represent it and make it such an original capital.

Our itinerary goes beyond the typical circuits recommended by tourist guides, allowing you to discover a different, multicultural and authentic city.

We will explore the **Jewish Quarter** in modern **Mitte**, with its spectacular hidden **courtyards** and new artistic trends: we will lose ourselves in a labyrinthine journey through memorial monuments and the architecture of absence.

A glimpse of Berlin life through the various realities it comprises.

A tour of **Hackescher Markt and its surroundings. **The area is known for its typical early 20th-century houses, which feature a special system of 8 inner courtyards. We will then walk through the **courtyards of Heckmann**, the most characteristic courtyards in the city. We will see the Blindenwerkstatt **Otto Weidt museum,** the remnants **of the first Jewish cemetery in Berlin, ** **Tolerance street, the** New**Synagogue, ** and many other places**.** We will discuss the history of **Tacheles** (an iconic Berlin building) throughout the 20th century, until its final closure.

We will analyze the concept of 'kiez', so dear to Berliners.

We will enter an old dance hall from the 1920s, where even today people dance the Swing, and we will understand the transformation of a district renowned for its cultural and artistic scenes, which can be experienced on every street, among theater halls, cinemas and the most important art galleries in the whole city.

A glimpse of Berlin life through the various realities it comprises.
