I joined this tour because the only train tour available was in English. I was a little anxious until the day of the tour, but the guide's English was easy to understand, and he used an automatic translation app to explain the ruins. He also sent me WhatsApp messages and called me when it was time to get off the train, showing great attentiveness. The day before, I received a message about the hotel pickup time (6:00 am in my case), and on the day of the tour, after boarding the bus, the other participants (all of whom were Vietnamese in this case) were picked up from their respective hotels and taken to the station. I received my ticket and was shown which train to take. The guide picked up the passengers who had chosen the bus for the outbound journey and went ahead to Lang Co station. Breakfast was available for purchase and there was a singing show inside the train. The view on the right side was nice, but power lines frequently came into view. The train slowed down a little at places with spectacular views. After getting off at Lang Co station, we stopped at a shop selling cultured pearl accessories and oils, which also served as a restroom break, before heading to the tourist spots of Hue. The glare from the buildings was extremely hot, so sun protection such as a parasol, hat, mini fan, and sunscreen is essential. There was chilled bottled water in a cooler box inside the car, which we could take freely. We had lunch at a restaurant with the other participants along the way. We were dropped off at the hotel on the way back. I got back to the hotel around 6:30 PM. It was incredibly hot, but it was a rare experience! Even though it was an English tour, it was fine as long as you could communicate reasonably well. I was really impressed by the high quality of the guide.
