Shakotan

We had booked in advance with a minimum of four people to make the trip, but on the day of the trip, our driver, Xiao Jin, told us that it was just the two of us, which was practically a private car. He even offered to adjust the sightseeing schedule to suit our needs – what a surprise! 😂 Later, on the way to Cape Kamui, it started raining heavily. Xiao Jin asked if we still wanted to go, and we said we at least wanted to take photos to prove we'd been there. 😆 So, he drove us directly to the sign, and we quickly got out, took our photos, and got back in the car to continue our journey to Otaru. However, due to the bad weather, the Otaru Tenguyama Ropeway was closed, so we ended up spending the entire afternoon exploring Otaru, even experiencing a rickshaw ride – a very enjoyable day! Finally, with happy hearts, our driver, Xiao Jin, took us back to our hotel. We hope to come back again next time!

This itinerary was full of highlights. Seeing peaches growing on trees, unlike those in supermarkets, was truly eye-opening. The scenery along the way was delightful. Our guide, Tracy, provided enthusiastic service, and our skilled driver was equally adept, reminding everyone to fasten their seatbelts – very thoughtful and responsible. We arrived safely in Yoichi to pick peaches, apples, and blueberries. The Nitori Orchard was vast, with every peach tree laden with fruit. The one-hour picking session was a blast; everyone devoured the peaches and had a wonderful time. At the Yoichi Distillery, you can learn about the entire whisky-making process. Optional tastings are also available. The stunning sea views from Mugishima and Cape Kamui are perfect for photos. However, Cape Kamui requires some physical exertion to see its breathtaking scenery. I highly recommend this itinerary. Don't hesitate, take advantage of this trip – it's a truly relaxing experience for both body and mind. Highly recommended!

The trip is too rush for shakotan kamui ! It’s will be nice if the revise from one hour to 1.5 hr ! The rest of the location like Otaru canal basically it’s just the shopping street we shall not spend too much time there! Otherwise is perfect . The tour guide TOM not so experience and slow is reaction ! We miss some good photos shooting spot at bus ! May be he is still news( i guess ) and he has try his best with the broken English 😁😁😁

Taking a tour group to Cape Kamui is the most convenient option; the attraction itself is worth the ticket price. Afterwards, you can explore Otaru independently, and you can communicate with your guide to flexibly sign off on your departure to the airport. It's very convenient and saves time.

If you're traveling with family, especially with elderly people or children, I highly recommend booking a private car service. You can decide your own travel destinations and stay times, and you can even stop at local supermarkets to buy souvenirs (I bought four large cantaloupes for 7000 yen this time). It was a truly enjoyable and fulfilling trip. Our driver, Mr. Takeda, drove very smoothly that day; I'm very grateful to him.
