What's unforgettable is the dreamy seascape known as "Shikotan Blue" and the incredibly delicious fresh sea urchins of the season. The magnificent cliffs are also impressive. The time spent at Otaru and Shiroi Koibito Museum is just right, not too rushed, making it a highly recommended day trip from Sapporo – a perfect suburban itinerary.
Our tour guide, Thomas, switched between English, Japanese, and Chinese, providing a very detailed introduction and managing the time very well. 👍 The stop in Otaru allowed for free lunch and shopping, which I highly recommend!
We chose Option B this time, and our tour guide, Xiao Hong, was incredibly enthusiastic and professional. He provided detailed introductions to each attraction, ensuring the trip wasn't just a rushed visit. Thank you so much, Xiao Hong, for giving my parents and me a wonderful day trip experience! And thank you, Kevin, for your kind assistance with taking photos, allowing us to create beautiful memories! 🤩
Our tour was guided by Xiao Hong, who provided a very thorough explanation and thoughtfully informed us of the meeting time beforehand. We initially didn't buy boat tickets, but later decided we wanted to go anyway, and the guide helped us book them on the day of the trip. The Blue Cave was absolutely stunning, and we felt it was well worth the price of admission. This tour is only available from April to October; you can't see it in winter, so you definitely should book it!
