I participated in half of the tour. It snowed in Kumamoto that day, and the road conditions were difficult, but thanks to the efforts of the driver and tour guide Ningning, we completed the tour smoothly and perfectly. The Takachiho Scenic Railway was a novel experience, but it was very windy and cold outdoors. The scenery of Takachiho Gorge was beautiful. Although the return trip from there was also beautiful, Mount Aso was stunning. Although it was extremely cold on the mountain and our time there was short, the later clearing weather at Mount Aso was also captivating. The ice cream in Kusanagi Senri was delicious, and there were souvenirs available to buy.
1/2 A day trip is truly the best way to solve the problem of inconvenient transportation when traveling alone to remote attractions. Today's sudden snow made transportation even more inconvenient. Fortunately, I didn't have to take a long bus ride only to find that the bus to Mount Aso was out of service. I was really glad that I didn't have to worry about not being able to get down after going up the mountain or that the volcano was temporarily closed. It saved me time in getting transportation. Finally, I would like to thank our tour guide Sun and the group members for making my travel experience so wonderful. Although it was snowing heavily in the crater, it was a very special and unforgettable memory. 1/3 Today's itinerary was full of beautiful scenery. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, taking a walk in the countryside to breathe fresh air and listen to the sound of flowing water was really relaxing. Although climbing a flight of stairs to Uetomi Kumano Shrine was a bit tiring, the beautiful scenery was worth it. These attractions are definitely worth visiting. Our guide, Zheng Weijun, also explained the relevant stories and information very carefully. It's perfect for solo travelers to go to places where transportation is relatively inconvenient. I had a lot of fun these past two days. I'm also especially grateful to the drivers. Because of the severe traffic jams during the Japanese New Year, we returned to the meeting point later than expected. The drivers worked very hard to ensure that we got home safely.
This time, we were arranged to take a one-day tour in a 10-seater minibus. Our guide and driver, Xiao Te, provided excellent service! 👍 He pointed out things we should be careful of to avoid any mishaps, and the tour time was more than enough, making our whole family feel very comfortable. ❣️ And because of the cold wave, we even saw snow in Aso ❄️, a different kind of scenery, and Kurokawa Onsen with heavy snow ☃️. It was really worth it! We also soaked in a fantastic open-air hot spring – definitely worth the ticket price! 💯
The itinerary included Takachiho Gorge, Mount Aso, and Kusasenri. Lunch was delicious, and our tour guide, Zhang Qing, arranged the time well, took great care of the group members, and provided a lot of information. It was wonderful to see the fully open crater.
