The instructor, a resident of Tai O, briefly explained the origin of sun-drying salted eggs in Tai O, and demonstrated the process. The workshop was held in a shed where residents usually live and work (these are private areas, and entry is not permitted unless you are scheduled to participate in the activity). In addition, participants received a ticket for a ride on a Tai O sightseeing boat, which allows them to view the water town from another perspective and chat with the captain. Overall, it was a heartwarming and worthwhile activity.
