Our tour guide was a very gentle grandma who provided bilingual (German/English) introductions to the sights along the way. In the town of Dürenstein, we had about an hour of free time to explore. The blue-domed church couldn't be entered, but there was a large mirror offering a panoramic view, which was quite nice. In Melk, we also had about two hours of free time before meeting up for a guided tour of the monastery. The guided tour used somewhat difficult language, and photography, audio, and video recording were prohibited. The monastery church was very beautiful and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to spend in the library, but overall, the experience was excellent! 👍 Here's the itinerary for the day for your reference: 10:30 Arrive in Dürenstein 11:15 Meet up and board the bus for a 1.5-hour boat ride with lunch on the boat (I recommend eating on the boat, as there won't be enough time to eat in Melk). 13:00 Arrive in Melk (We'll explain important information and provide tickets for the gardens and monastery). 15:00 Meet at the monastery for a guided tour. After the tour, we had a little free time (about 20 minutes; I spent most of my time in the church). 16:30 Return trip 17:45 Arrive at the Vienna meeting point
