Museum of the Nanyue King (Royal Tomb Exhibition Area)
The venue is located at No. 867 Jiefang North Road, Guangzhou. Formerly known as the Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Nanyue King, it was built on the original site of the tomb after the excavation of the tomb of Zhao Mo, the King of Nanyue, in 1983. The museum has 10 exhibition halls, with permanent exhibitions of cultural relics of the King of Nanyue and porcelain pillows.
Core artifacts: Over 10,000 funerary objects were unearthed from the tomb, divided into five exhibition areas: Emperor Wen's gold seal, treasures of the main chamber, sacrificial victims in the tomb, imperial treasures, and fine food and drink. The museum's prized possession is a jade burial suit made of silk threads, which is one of the earliest and most complete jade burial suits in my country. Other top-quality Han jade treasures include a dragon and phoenix patterned double-ringed jade pendant (the prototype of the academy emblem), a stemmed cup with a saucer, and a celadon jade horn cup. Eleven sets of jade accessories and 58 jade sword ornaments are also major discoveries of Han Dynasty jade artifacts.
Venue structure: A three-story comprehensive exhibition building on the east side and a two-story main exhibition building on the north side are connected by a corridor, allowing visitors to fully view the original site of the ancient tomb and all the cultural relics.
