ー About the Museum ー

An art stage that blends art and fashion, bringing together future trends. ALIEN Art Centre is located in the Pier-2 Art Center area of Kaohsiung. • Gestures of Existence
This exhibition brings together important works by five mid-career Asian artists: Shih Jin-hua, Lee Soo-kyung, Chang En-man, Yeh Wei-li, and Charwei Tsai. Starting from their individual life experiences and cultural backgrounds, they engage in five distinct forms of writing. 'Gestures of Existence' safeguards those life journeys that cannot be accelerated, easily replicated, or replaced. This is not just an exhibition about the act of writing, but about how, amidst constant change and disappearance, one can consciously make their entire life a profound existence.

  • Wandering Time and Space — Ho Kan, Kwon Soon-ik
Spanning seventy years (1955–2024), the exhibits include paintings, object installations, and early sketches by the artists. Through a cross-generational and cross-regional dialogue, the exhibition re-invokes the core spirit of 'abstraction' within the East Asian context. Using 'Form and Qi' as the curatorial axis, the works span from 1955 to 2024, covering paintings, object installations, and early artist sketches. The exhibition rhythm is laid out through five major zones: 'Order of Form, Flow of Qi', 'Re-gazing at East Asian Abstraction', 'From Static to Dynamic: Dots, Squares, Triangles', 'Between Form and Qi: Gateway to Eternity', and 'Painting as a Bridge Between Us'. Combined with thoughtfully placed designer furniture, the layout guides the viewer's perspective and experience.

  • Eye of the Sky — Jiro Kamata
Micro-optical jewelry held in the palm, sculpting the infinite imagination of cosmic light, and a crossover performance blending art, fashion, and astronomical science.
'Art in Motion — Eye of the Sky': Step into the world of Jiro Kamata's works, and viewers will feel the temporal dimensions of starlight from the universe. The artist combines contemporary jewelry (micro-optical sculptures) with light refraction and innovative materials to create psychedelic art pieces reminiscent of black holes and galaxies. These works not only showcase the strange colors of starlight flickering in the night sky but also convey fantastic associations with the invisible yet existing wonders of the universe.
