My long-held dream has finally come true! I never imagined the ferry could be so big! There weren't too many people on board. I booked a standard class cabin, and every room had plenty of space! I was able to get a good rest! It's incredibly good value for money! I highly recommend everyone to experience it!
Our tour guide, Niu, provided a very detailed introduction, covering all the transportation and attractions in Sendai. We went at the end of April, when the foxes were molting, so their fur wasn't as fluffy. However, we happened to witness the birth of fox cubs, and we could experience holding one – a very special experience. I felt the time on Matsushima Island was a little insufficient, as the boat trip was only 50 minutes, and with lunch time, there wasn't enough time to explore the island's land-based attractions, which was a bit of a shame.
Starting from the west exit of Aomori, we first took a train up Mount Hakkoda. In early April, the mountain was covered in snow, with strong gusts of wind and drifting mist, creating an atmospheric effect for photos. The wind was very strong, so those going should dress warmly and bring gloves, as your hands will be stiff from the wind! 😂 Along the way, we headed towards the Oirase Stream. Hitoshi-san introduced the various scenic spots to the group, giving everyone ample time for photos and stopping at many attractions. The most memorable was the Snow Wall Corridor, which resembled a smaller version of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. We stopped at Lake Towada for lunch, where the famous Aomori chicken is worth trying. Special thanks to Hitoshi-san for his thoughtful care and arrangements for the group. You can also visit other day tours later.
Installation was easy and reception was mostly fine, except for a slightly weaker signal in remote mountainous areas, but I was very satisfied with the price.
