Nikko

I visited Nikko Toshogu Shrine as a tourist. Unfortunately, it coincided with a festival, and I was unable to leave the gates. Initially, I didn't know when I was allowed to leave, so I decided to wait a while. I realized that sightseeing on festival days can be difficult. Regarding the "Crying Dragon," when I visited around March of last year, the explanation was only in Japanese, but this time they were also speaking English and Spanish, which surprised me. I was very impressed by the various efforts and ingenuity being put into the experience. I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity.

I decided to go to Nikko Edo Village, a place I'd never been to before, and while researching, I found a direct bus from Tokyo. Since it was only three days in advance, I booked it thinking it would be fully booked. On the day of departure, it was my first time at the Yaesu underground bus terminal, so I arrived early to check how crowded it was. There was no one waiting at our platform, which worried me. A large bus arrived, and my family of three boarded, thinking we were the first passengers. However, no one else boarded, so I asked the driver, and it turned out we were the only three people! We had the bus all to ourselves, which made us very happy. It seems it's not very well-known yet, so it was good that we went before it became popular. There were rest stops along the way, and we arrived at Nikko Edo Village comfortably, enjoying ourselves until 4 PM. Since I didn't have to drive, I could drink beer, play a lot, and sleep on the bus, which was great. On the way back, the highway was congested, so we arrived a little late, but the driver drove safely, so there were no problems. It was a relaxing trip after a long time. Next time, I'd like to take a bus trip to a different place. Thank you.

I was so lucky to have Xia, a Chinese-speaking driver, as hiring a car made the trip so easy. He worked tirelessly from Tokyo to pick us up from our hotel in Kawaguchiko early in the morning, and we drove for over an hour to the 5th Station's Onaka-dori trail, enjoying the beautiful scenery halfway up the mountain. Although our time at the outlet was limited, we still managed to buy what we wanted. Xia was very polite and warm, drove steadily, and avoided traffic jams so we could get back to Tokyo on time. The driver was very friendly and provided excellent service, and the itinerary went very smoothly. The driving was smooth and comfortable, and the overall experience was very good. I was very satisfied with this chartered car trip!

On a calm day with occasional glimpses of blue sky, what struck me most about Lake Chuzenji from the cruise ship was its beauty. I've visited Lake Chuzenji many times before, but this was a beauty I'd never seen. The lake shimmered with cobalt blue, then transformed into a transparent blue. At times, the sunlight reflected off the surface of the lake, creating a dazzling sparkle. I was able to fully appreciate the changes that can only be experienced from a cruise ship.

I was a little worried because there weren't many reviews, but customer service responded quickly and completely, and they informed me that the driver was a native Chinese speaker. The vehicle was an Alphard fourth generation. There were mountain roads, but the car was very stable, and I didn't get carsick. The driver was also very friendly. Overall, the trip was quite comfortable. I would definitely use this service again if I have the chance!

The Tokyo Wide Pass is a great ticket for visiting less-visited spots near Tokyo and taking sightseeing trains.

Getting to Edomura was inconvenient, so I was happy about the direct flight from Tokyo Station. There's also a free shuttle bus between Edomura and Toshogu Shrine, so I used Edomura as a base to visit various places.
