The guided tour was simply excellent. Before going, I was worried about whether I would enjoy a mixed English and Chinese tour, but even as a Japanese person, I had no problems enjoying it! The tour guide was very attentive to my concerns and frequently asked about the meeting time and if there was anything I needed to know, so I was able to tour with peace of mind. Above all, you can really feel their desire to have fun! They taught me local information and history, which was also educational. I was lucky enough to see a koala, and it was adorable to see it rocking to sleep. The weather was also beautiful, so the scenery was amazing, and I was able to take in the local cityscape, which is something you can only get from a bus tour. I would definitely request this tour again if I go to Melbourne again!
After careful consideration, I finally chose this half-day tour. Since the daylight hours are longer in early summer, and the highlight of the Penguin Parade doesn't start until around 7:30 PM, I decided to only take the half-day. The minibus, with about 20 people, departed promptly at 12:30 PM. From 2:15 PM to 3:18 PM, the steam train stopped at two stops. From 3:20 PM to 4:00 PM, we visited the Lake Treganowan Visitor Center. From 5:40 PM to 6:00 PM, we rested at Phillip Island's beach and enjoyed an ecological tour around the island. At 6:30 PM, we stopped at Southpoint Lookout for five minutes. Arrived at the Penguin Parade Center at 6:50 PM, departed for the city at 9:05 PM, and arrived in front of Southern Cross Station at 11:04 PM. The actual itinerary was the same as the tour operator's plan. I was a little worried that I wouldn't understand the Australian accent in English, but luckily our tour guide Matt (? Not sure if he spelled it correctly, attached is a photo of him working hard) was very kind and attentive. In addition to repeatedly reminding us of the meeting time, he also professionally introduced the attractions on the bus. Before the penguins went home, we drove around Phillip Island for an ecological tour. We saw several wild wallabies and penguins. His driving skills were great and everyone slept soundly 👍🏻 He also took the initiative to help everyone take photos. Special thanks to Darren, the tour guide from another bus with the same travel agency, explore Australia, for being very energetic and helping everyone record the video. It left us with precious memories of riding the train 👍🏻 ⚠️Don't underestimate the low temperature at night when the penguins are roaming. There is no shelter and the cold wind is blowing directly. You really need to bring warm clothes and a hat to fully enjoy observing the penguins returning home.
You can order ESIM the day before departure and the online customer service will help you solve the problem. At the beginning, I had a problem. One phone could access the Internet, but the other one could not. I thought it was a problem with the new iOS.
