My family had a good time. We didn’t have high expectations since we live in Southern California and have gone to amusement parks like Disneyland and Universal Studios all our lives. We just wanted a family friendly activity to do and we like experiencing different amusement parks in different parts of the world. Everland had fun rides, good food (for an amusement park), and interesting things to see (animals) that you wouldn’t don’t normally see at other parks.
Because we had children traveling with us, we opted for a private car tour. We chose to cycle around Nami Island and Gangchon Railway Bikeway, and the driver recommended the Samaksan Cable Car. The driver assisted with purchasing tickets and explained important information, and even offered to take photos for us – he was very kind. Lunch was at a barbecue restaurant recommended by the driver, which turned out to be the best barbecue restaurant of our entire trip to Korea.
My brother is a great driver, fast, accurate, and punctual. The attractions are fun. I recommend going to Nami Island after snowfall or at the end of October when the autumn leaves are in bloom, otherwise it feels like going to a park. Biking is very convenient and fun. The spicy stir-fried chicken (optional) is delicious.
We booked a car for three people, with three large suitcases and one small carry-on. The car that arrived was large enough to be considered a business class car. It was comfortable and clean, and the car was easy to sit in without any sudden stops or braking. The driver, who spoke Chinese, didn't chatter around. The trip went smoothly. Highly recommended!
Our first stop was Petite France, with the option of choosing between Petite France and Italian Village. Most people in our group chose Petite France, probably because it's featured in many Korean dramas and variety shows. This place is incredibly photogenic on a clear day! Every picture is a masterpiece. Our second stop was Gangchon Rail Bike. At this time of year, they've planted a section of pink muhly grass for photos, which is absolutely gorgeous, and you don't have to go to the Sky Park! 😆 The rail bike ride is quite fast downhill, and at this time of year, the wind can get quite chilly 🥶, so remember to bring a hat, gloves, and scarf (I regret not bringing any). Our third stop was the highlight, Nami Island. We were hoping to see the autumn leaves turn red, but only a few were actually red; most weren't yet! However, a large area of ginkgo leaves had turned yellow. There were many tourists, and since we went on a weekend, it was almost impossible to take photos without people in them… For those planning to go, be sure to avoid weekends! Aside from some minor traffic congestion, most of the sightseeing and lunch arrangements went smoothly throughout the trip! Lunch was Chuncheon spicy stir-fried chicken (a standard dish on Nami Island tours). Many thanks to our tour guide, Ms. Hwa! 🫶감사합니다
