Product Info

Discover three special aspects of Crete on this varied tour: the fascinating world of the Minoans, the vibrant historic center of Heraklion, and the millennia-old tradition of Cretan olive oil.

Your experience begins at the famous Palace of Knossos, one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Explore the remains of the Minoan civilization and immerse yourself in the world of King Minos, the Labyrinth, and the legendary Minotaur.

You can visit the palace on your own, with an audio guide, or with an officially licensed tour guide.

Afterwards, the tour continues on to the historic center of Heraklion. On a leisurely walk, you'll discover some of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Venetian Morosini Fountain, the Loggia, the Church of Agios Titos, and the old Venetian harbor with the Koules Fortress.

Of course, a typical Cretan snack break is a must. In the heart of Heraklion, you will sample traditional bougatsa or loukoumades and enjoy a coffee.

Finally, we will visit a special olive oil mill. Here, you will learn about the importance of olives and olive oil for Crete over thousands of years. Discover how the Minoans already produced olive oil, what methods were used during the Byzantine period, and how high-quality olive oil is produced today using modern methods.

During a tasting, you'll get to know different Cretan olive oils and learn how to recognize quality, taste, and genuine extra virgin olive oil.

This tour combines archaeology, city life, local specialties and Cretan tradition to create a personal experience in a small group.

A journey through more than 4,000 years of history – from Knossos to the Old Town of Heraklion to the world of Cretan olive oil today.
