Product Info

  • [Japanese Culture Experience] Maebashi is easily accessible from the city center, about an hour and a half from Tokyo Station by Shinkansen and train. In this city of silk that once supported Japan's modernization, you can enjoy a premium, fully private traditional craft experience limited to 1 group per day with exclusive access to a craftsman. [Silk Making Experience] Using rare, purely domestic 'white cocoons' and 'yellow cocoons', you will reel two types of beautiful, glossy silk thread using a traditional zaguri machine. [Washi Paper & Origami Experience] Fold origami cranes from washi paper. In addition to decorations with textured washi paper, we provide a special bag with a tag made from the silk thread you reeled yourself. You can take home your two luxury 'silk frames' in this specially crafted bag. [Tumulus Tour & Mulberry Tea] A special time to immerse yourself in ancient romance while touring the nationally designated historic site 'Yawata-yama Tumulus' right in front of you with a craftsman. Silkworms that produce cocoons are raised on mulberry leaves. You can enjoy high-quality 'mulberry tea' while thinking about the mulberry.
  • Exclusive access to a craftsman! Fully private guidance
  • [Limited to 1 group per day] A private space where you will not be with other guests. A craftsman will be by your side, carefully supporting you step-by-step from handling the hot water to reeling the thread, so beginners, children, and the elderly can experience silk making with peace of mind.
  • Fully enjoy Japanese culture! Domestic cocoon zaguri experience, origami, and washi paper craft experience
  • [Uses rare domestic white and yellow cocoons!] Reel beautiful silk thread from two types of cocoons using traditional 'zaguri'. You will also experience making 'washi paper origami cranes', a Japanese traditional culture, and decorating bags using washi paper and the thread you reeled yourself.
  • Touch the romance of 'Silk x Ancient History'
  • [The mysterious tumulus right in front of you] Visit the 'Yawata-yama Tumulus', one of the largest square-shaped tumuli in Eastern Japan, with a craftsman. A commemorative photo taken while holding up your completed thread while thinking about ancient times is the best shot. Includes 'mulberry tea' hospitality.
