Your visit to the Museum of the City of New York, will celebrate through unique and inspiring exhibits, the past, present, and future of the city it calls home.

Located in a neo-Georgian-style landmark building on Fifth Avenue and 103rd Street, at the top of the Museum Mile and across the street from Central Park's Conservatory Garden and El Museo Del Barrio, the Museum of the City of New York invites visitors to explore the distinctive nature of urban life in the world's most exciting and influential metropolis.

Explore the permanent exhibitions, including New York at Its Core, which focuses on stories of innovation, energy, and struggle of generations of immigrants, politicians, tycoons, dreamers, master builders, and ordinary New Yorkers.

Other exhibits rotate frequently telling dynamic stories of New York including, music, dance, photography, and critical historical pivot points affecting the national landscape. Activist New York, presents the passions and conflicts that underlie the city's history of agitation, setting the stage for change in the country.

Watch the award-winning short documentary, Timescapes, which explores how New York City grew from a settlement of a few hundred Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans into the metropolis we know today, narrated by Stanley Tucci.
