What is ASMUI Sacred Site Hiking?

ASMUI Sacred Site Hiking (formerly Daisekirinzan) is located within Yanbaru National Park at the northernmost tip of Okinawa and serves as a vital starting point for Ryukyuan creation myths. Legend has it that the creator deity Amamikyu first descended here to create the Ryukyuan world. Recently renovated and upgraded from Daisekirinzan, the park has been reinterpreted with a focus on Ryukyuan mythology and sacred nature experiences, and is now designated as a Japanese National Place of Scenic Beauty, 'Amamikyu-nu-mui'. It features the world's northernmost tropical karst topography, formed over approximately 250 million years, with a vast array of unique rock formations. It is a rare and magnificent natural wonder on Earth and is recognized as one of Okinawa's greatest spiritual power spots.

What can you do at ASMUI Sacred Site Hiking?

Upon entry, you can download the exclusive audio guide app and stroll through the subtropical forest trails at your own pace, visiting 26 spots, each with its own Ryukyuan mythological story. You can visit famous power spots such as 'Goku-iwa' and the 'Stone of Life Cycle' to feel the energy of nature, and take in the blue ocean views of northern Okinawa from the 'Beautiful Sea Observatory'. The park is equipped with shuttle buses and a rest area; a stay of approximately 90 to 150 minutes is recommended. Escape the crowds of the south and immerse yourself in the tranquil Yanbaru forest for a thorough recharge and healing of mind and body—an unmissable experience for those who love in-depth travel and hiking.

Should I choose the single-entry ticket or the combo ticket?

If you wish to focus on the ASMUI mythological hiking experience, choose the 'Single Entry' package. If you want to connect two major Ryukyuan mythological sacred sites in northern Okinawa, the 'Combo Ticket' is recommended. In addition to ASMUI Sacred Site Hiking, the combo ticket includes admission to Kouri Ocean Tower. Kouri Island is known as the 'Island of Love,' home to the Ryukyuan version of the Adam and Eve legend. The tower stands at an altitude of approximately 82 meters; from the observation deck, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Kouri Bridge and the emerald 'Kouri Blue' ocean. You can also ride the automated cart through the subtropical gardens and visit the Shell Museum, which houses over 10,000 shells. The combo ticket also includes one 'Hedo-no-Asumui' Utaki stamp, which must be redeemed at the ASMUI park.
