Product Info

  • We will guide you to 5 famous cherry blossom spots, including the 'Three Great Cherry Blossom Spots of Michinoku'!

◆ Hirosaki Park (Aomori) [Three Great Cherry Blossom Spots of Michinoku] *Typical best time to view: Mid-April to early May

In spring, approximately 2,600 cherry trees bloom in full glory, and at the West Moat, the blossoms form a tunnel overhead. Towards the end of the season, the falling petals create a pink carpet floating on the water, vividly coloring the spring in Hirosaki.

◆ Kakunodate (Akita) [Three Great Cherry Blossom Spots of Michinoku] *Typical best time to view: Mid-April to early May

Among the weeping cherry trees in Kakunodate, 162 are designated as National Natural Monuments. The pink blossoms standing out against the black wooden fences of the samurai residences captivate all who visit.
It is said that these cherry trees originated from three saplings brought from Kyoto by the wife of Yoshiaki Satake, the second head of the Satake-Kita family, as part of her dowry.

*The light-up event in Kakunodate is typically held from April 20 to May 5 (the schedule may shift depending on the blooming status).

◆ Kitakami Tenshochi (Iwate) [Three Great Cherry Blossom Spots of Michinoku] *Typical best time to view: Mid-April to late April

Located along the banks of the leisurely flowing Kitakami River, Kitakami Tenshochi is known as one of the premier cherry blossom spots in the Tohoku region and is counted among the 'Three Great Cherry Blossom Spots of Michinoku'.

◆ Koiwai Farm's 'Ippon-zakura' (Iwate) *Typical best time to view: Late April to early May

The sight of this solitary cherry tree blooming against the backdrop of the snow-capped Mt. Iwate is truly soul-cleansing.

◆ Ishiwari-zakura (Iwate) *Typical best time to view: Mid-April to late April

The Ishiwari-zakura (Rock-Splitting Cherry Tree) located in Morioka City is a National Natural Monument.
