With its otherworldly, stunning scenery, it attracts visitors from all over the world and is known as a 'postcard from heaven.' Beyond its beauty, Hallstatt is rich in historical significance. The 'Hall' in Hallstatt originates from the ancient Celtic word for 'salt.' 7,000 years ago, our ancestors were already mining salt in the mountains, bringing great wealth to the town. It is also known as the world's oldest salt mine.

  • Gosausee

On the way from Hallstatt to Gosausee, you can take in the panoramic views of the countryside at the foot of the Alps. Compared to Hallstatt, this area is less crowded and commercial, offering a more tranquil atmosphere. Gosausee is the highest alpine lake in Austria, with the 2,995-meter-high Dachstein peak looming behind it. Stroll along the lakeside trail and fully enjoy the pleasure of being surrounded by towering mountains and beautiful lake scenery.
