There is no doubt that those who know fresh seafood best are the fishermen themselves, which makes Uoshin Tempura the best choice for enjoying tempura.
Uoshin began supplying seafood to restaurants in the Akasaka entertainment district in 1890, gradually building a widespread reputation in the area. After nearly a century of supplying fresh seafood to local ryotei, Uoshin ventured into the restaurant business, founding Uoshin Tempura in Roppongi in 1980. In 2004, Uoshin relocated the restaurant to its current site in Nihonbashi and opened a second branch in Nishi-Azabu three years later.
Like its predecessor, Nishi-Azabu Uoshin Tempura leverages its extensive experience in seafood sourcing and cooking to provide customers with the freshest tempura experience. The restaurant features only 8 seats, offering a quiet, intimate space for guests to fully appreciate the freshness of the seafood and the culinary skills of Chef Shinji Miyazaki.
Chef Miyazaki has over 40 years of experience in the Japanese culinary world and has become a celebrity, appearing frequently in major newspaper articles, magazine features, and television programs. Many people travel specifically to Nishi-Azabu Uoshin Tempura just to catch a glimpse of this legendary figure. However, despite the time spent in front of the camera, he is most at home standing behind the counter, using his exquisite skills to fry seafood and vegetables.
