Impression Sanjie Liu embodies a sense of ultimate grandeur. Utilizing the largest environmental art lighting project in the country and unique smoke effect engineering, it creates a dreamlike visual experience. While traditional performances are confined to the limited space of a theater, this show uses nature itself as the stage. Looking out, the waters of the Li River and the mountains of Guilin become the central stage, offering a vast perspective and a transcendent feeling.
Traditional stage performances are human creations, but this 'landscape real-scene performance' is a joint creation by humanity and nature. In Impression Sanjie Liu, the appearance and disappearance of mountain peaks, the reflections in the water mirror, the embellishment of misty rain, the gentle whispering of bamboo forests, and the draping of moonlight all enter the performance at any time, becoming wonderful interludes. The Li River on a sunny day, with its clear breezes and reflections, is particularly charming; however, the misty, rainy Li River offers another kind of aesthetic enjoyment.
Impression Sanjie Liu is located in Yangshuo County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and was passionately created by the four main directors: Zhang Yimou, Wang Chaoge, Fan Yue, and Mei Shuaiyuan.
Impression Sanjie Liu inherits the legend of the Guangxi song fairy, Sanjie Liu, but it is not limited to her individual story. Instead, it uses the composition and techniques of Chinese landscape painting to integrate real mountains and water, combined with the unique rhythms and melodies of ethnic minority songs. It blends and presents the cultural essence represented by Sanjie Liu, the life situations she experienced, and the folk songs and customs she loved—especially the beautiful mountains and waters she revered and cherished—through artistic techniques and poetic choreography. Even without a continuous narrative or precise lyrical translation, the charm of the performance transcends borders and languages, grandly and representatively showcasing the customs and traditions of the Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Dong, and other ethnic minorities in Guangxi, as well as the diverse life around the Li River.

- Specific daily performance sessions and time adjustments are subject to the announcement by the scenic area on the day. During holidays and summer vacation, there may be three or four shows; times will be subject to the notice announced by the scenic area on that day.
- Effective from May 8, 2024, Impression Sanjie Liu will implement summer performance hours as follows: One show daily at 20:00. Additional shows may be added if the number of viewers is high.
- The performance is significantly affected by weather. If the show is canceled by the scenic area, a full refund can be processed. The scenic area will decide whether to proceed with the performance based on the weather conditions of the day.
