- Marine Features -
Penghu's rich landscape resources are full of surprises. Looking back at the geological evolution of the Earth over billions of years, the Penghu coast can be considered a miniature version of Hawaii. The history of the islands formed by submarine volcanic eruptions and pushed-up basalt is carved into the basalt columns and recorded in the sedimentary underwater world, creating an excellent marine environment in Penghu.
In the azure underwater world, you will find colorful tropical fish and a variety of coral reef fish (such as cherry shrimp, emperor red snapper, mackerel, black porgy, damselfish, yellowtail blue damselfish, red seabream, coral, horned starfish, cup coral, wavy mushroom coral, staghorn coral, barrel sponges, sea fans, cushion stars, etc.)
The coastline of Penghu, including Suogang, Wukan, Shanshui, Jing'an, Fenggui, and Qingwan, features coastal reef terrain, coral coverage, and unique rock formations. These jagged, natural landscapes form an excellent natural classroom for diving instruction and recreation.
