Tai Shuei District

The name Dashu District originates from over two hundred years ago when a giant banyan tree stood by the Gaoping River. Locals called it 'Dashujiao'. Although the ancient banyan tree was later washed away by floods, the place name 'Dashu' has been used ever since, becoming the origin of the district's name.

Dashu District boasts abundant tourist resources. Recommended attractions include the solemn Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, the historic Fo Guang Shan, the fun-filled E-DA Theme Park, and the nearby E-DA Outlet Mall. Additionally, the Old Iron Bridge Wetland Education Park is a great place to connect with nature.

Dashu District is located southeast of Kaohsiung City. It borders Pingtung County to the east across the Gaoping River, is adjacent to Dashi District, Renwu District, and Niaosong District to the west, borders Daliao District to the south, and is neighbors with Lingkou in Cishan District to the north. Its terrain is long and narrow from north to south, with an area of approximately 67 square kilometers.

After several administrative adjustments, Dashu District currently comprises eighteen villages: Zhuliao, Jiugu, Jiutang, Shuian, Shuiliao, Jingjiao, Xiaoping, Longmu, Dashu, Shuejiao, Xingshan, Heshan, Gushan, Sanhe, Dakeng, Xipu, Xingtian, and Tongling.
