Having traveled to Japan independently many times, this was my first time trying this kind of travel. I was lucky enough to visit Mount Fuji and the snow-covered Hakone. A special thank you to our driver, Xiao Zhao, for his hard work in taking us up the mountain and down to the sea, completing our mission. The itinerary also allowed us to bring our suitcases, which we could leave in the car, so we could go straight to the airport to catch our flight. It's also convenient if we need to go to a new hotel later on. It's perfect for people who like to see things quickly but don't want to carry luggage around and transfer between different modes of transportation.
Because we had children aged 5-6, we chose the KKDAY one-day tour. The transportation was by minibus for a mini-group of four people. There were travelers from India, the US, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Our guide, Bobo, sent a letter the day before and also contacted us via LINE or WhatsApp on the day of the tour, providing information about the attractions. The guided tour was conducted in both English and Chinese, and Bobo was very friendly, providing background information on the attractions and recommending nearby restaurants. The area around Eshima Shrine was really nice, with the shrine and the sea. Arriving on a Saturday morning, it wasn't crowded and had a very charming old town. The Hakone day tour included a boat and cable car ride, incorporating three modes of transportation. The cable car goes directly to Owakudani, which is convenient. It was a good tour route, the only downside being that the minibus driver kept flooring the accelerator or driving like a frozen log, making it feel a bit rushed.
This journey was a feast for the soul. Wandering through the streets of unfamiliar cities, witnessing magnificent natural wonders, and savoring authentic international flavors, the interplay of beautiful scenery and unexpected surprises dispelled fatigue, leaving only a wealth of emotions and memories. This was not merely a geographical migration, but also the most beautiful reward for life.
