Product Info

Visit Amano Iwato Shrine and Amano Yasukawara, believed to be the setting of the “Ama-no-Iwato myth” in Japanese mythology.

Amaterasu, the sun goddess in Japanese mythology, is said to have become angered by the mischievous behavior of her younger brother, Susanoo-no-Mikoto. She retreated into the cave known as “Amano Iwato,” plunging the world into darkness. This cave is enshrined as a sacred object at Amano Iwato Shrine.
Nearby, “Amano Yasukawara” is believed to grant wishes and blessings for success. It is said that if you stack stones while making a wish, your desire will come true. The countless stone piles spread across the area create a striking and mystical atmosphere, enhancing the sacred and otherworldly feeling of the site.

Note: This tour mainly involves walking. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

A historic dining experience set in a traditional 260-year-old farmhouse, featuring a dedicated performance space called a “Koniwa,” where sacred Kagura dance is performed. Guests can dine around this atmosphere while enjoying premium Miyazaki wagyu beef grilled on ceramic plates and “Kappo-zake,” a local pre-meal sake specialty of Takachiho.

The Takachiho Gorge was formed in ancient times by pyroclastic flows from volcanic activity of Mount Aso, which cooled and solidified before being eroded into steep cliffs. The gorge features dramatic cliffs rising up to 100 meters, with an average height of around 80 meters, stretching approximately 7 kilometers from east to west.
Inside the gorge is the famous “Manai Falls,” selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls, and it serves as the symbolic landmark of Takachiho Gorge.
At the end of the walking route, each guest will receive a complimentary bottle of highly popular local “Hyuganatsu 100% juice.”

Note: This tour mainly involves walking. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
Visit two of Takachiho’s most famous power spots, both popular even among celebrities.
Takachiho Shrine

Within the grounds of Takachiho Shrine, there are many objects believed to bring good fortune. Among the most famous is the “Meoto Sugi” (Couple Cedar), a sacred cedar tree associated with good relationships. It is said that if couples or married partners hold hands and walk around the tree three times, three wishes will be granted: marital harmony, family safety, and prosperity of descendants.

Aratate Shrine: This shrine is known for blessings related to performing arts and matchmaking.

At the “Shichifuku Tokujubanbō” ritual, it is believed that striking the wooden plaque seven times with sincere intention will make your wish come true. The sound of the wooden mallet echoing through the forest creates a deeply sacred and spiritual atmosphere.
