2026 Taitung Hot Air Balloon Carnival
The 2026 Taitung Hot Air Balloon Carnival will be held from July 4th to August 20th. This year's featured IP is the super popular Ghikawa, and there will be the world's only Ghikawa-shaped balloon. Stroll through the event venue and admire the colorful hot air balloons, and enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the morning. Ample time is allowed in the itinerary; you can optionally experience a tethered hot air balloon ride (at your own expense) and take unforgettable photos.
After watching the early morning hot air balloon ride, a private car will take you back to your hotel or guesthouse for breakfast.
9:30 AM After checking out, head to the beautiful east coast to enjoy the scenic views along the way. Visit the Xiaoyeliu Geopark (Fugang Geopark) for its rich geological wonders and diverse flora, and enjoy distant views of Green Island. Then, visit Taitung's newest and most beautiful library, the trendy Ou Cafe (Main Library Branch), where each person will receive a complimentary coffee or beverage and snacks.

Alternatively, you can choose to only take the shuttle bus and not the tour itself. The shuttle bus schedule is as follows: (Minimum 4 people required)
Outbound journey: 3:30-4:00 AM, shuttle service between hotels in Zhiben area, hotels in Taitung city, and guesthouses. Return journey: around 8:00 AM, return to hotels in Taitung city and Zhiben area.

• This activity does not include the tethered hot air balloon experience fee. • The event is closed every Tuesday during the hot air balloon season. • Opening ceremony with 10,000 balloons taking flight on the morning of July 4th. • The fee for children aged 2 and under is NTD 300 per person, payable to the tour guide on the day of the event (not included in the minimum group size of 2).
• For hotels or guesthouses in the Zhiben area, an additional transportation fee of NTD 150 per person per trip will be charged. • If the accommodation is not located in Taitung City, a separate fare supplement will be quoted. • For pure shuttle service, you can select the shuttle service option when placing your order (minimum 4 people).

Reminders

  • The minimum number of participants required for the tour is 2 (4 for transfers). If the number of participants does not meet the minimum required number, the tour will be cancelled and a cancellation email will be sent 3 days before the departure date.

  • If delays or cancellations are caused by force majeure events such as traffic or weather, resulting in the cancellation of some attractions on your itinerary, please contact customer service and we will process a partial refund for you.

  • The on-board service staff, tour guide and driver, will provide guidance and commentary throughout the entire journey.

  • The driving time stated in the itinerary is for reference only. The itinerary sequence may be changed depending on road conditions or the large number of tourists on holidays.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations 31 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
  • For cancellations made 22 to 30 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 10% will apply
  • For cancellations made 11 to 21 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 20% will apply
  • For cancellations made 4 to 10 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 30% will apply
  • For cancellations made 1 to 3 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 70% will apply
  • Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
NOTE
  • Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy.
