In this once-in-a-lifetime ship sailing cruise, help the crew of the R. Tucker Thompson set the sails, ride the bowsprit, and climb the rigging. You can also relax and let the crew control the ship, all while you listen to their exciting and informative commentary and enjoy the spectacular views.
Sail on Northland's iconic tall ship for a memorable tour of the Bay of Islands! Join the 6-hour full-day sail, which includes a journey through the islands of the bay, stopping at one of them for a swim and lunch. Alternatively, you can enjoy the 1.5-hour late afternoon sail, on which you explore the inner harbor's sheltered waters while admiring the sunset and indulging in an antipasto platter and a glass of wine.
A not-for-profit charitable trust operates the R. Tucker Thompson. Profits made through these commercial tourism activities are used to maintain the vessel and run sail training voyages for the youth over the winter months.
