Closed on 2/10 for trail pavement restoration work
Manyueyuan National Forest Recreation Area previously conducted slope stabilization work on the hiking trail from 0.45K to 0.6K to ensure slope stability and visitor safety. The main construction is now nearing completion. To carry out asphalt pavement restoration and overall environmental cleanup affected by the construction, the park will undergo its final phase of work. Considering that heavy machinery is required for the repaving process, Manyueyuan National Forest Recreation Area and the Dongman Trail (Manyueyuan Section) will be closed for one day on February 10th to ensure visitor safety. The park will be temporarily closed to the public on that day. This is the final phase of the project for this section, and upon completion, it will provide a safer and more comfortable recreational environment for visitors. 【Manyueyuan National Forest Recreation Area】
Located about 40 minutes from Sanxia city center, Manyueyuan National Forest Recreation Area sits at an altitude between 300 and 1,700 meters. It is cool and humid year-round, fostering a rich fern ecosystem where even the environmentally sensitive 'fan fern' can be found. The Manyueyuan Waterfall and Virgin Waterfall at the end of the hiking trail are the two major highlights of the recreation area. Looking from the Manyueyuan Bridge, a large rock wall over ten meters high obscures the top of the Manyueyuan Waterfall, with the water cascading down in a magnificent display. The Virgin Waterfall is more gentle and graceful; on sunny days, the light refracts through the waterfall, often creating brilliant, rainbow-like colors.

【Dongyanshan National Forest Recreation Area】
Located about a 1-hour drive from Daxi, Dongyanshan National Forest Recreation Area was once a logging site for the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency (formerly the Forestry Bureau), leaving behind many forestry relics such as log skidders, cableways, and trolleys hidden along the educational trails. Today, you can stroll through the misty, neat, and beautiful Japanese cedar forests, climb the steps to the summit of Dongyanshan at 1,212 meters, and enjoy views stretching from Taoyuan to the Greater Taipei area. Dongyanshan's rich ecology boasts about 43 species of mountain birds and numerous mammals; even the white-faced flying squirrel, typically found at mid-to-high altitudes, can be seen here. In spring, enjoy the cherry blossoms; in summer, listen to the cicadas by day and various frogs by night; in autumn, the Dongyanshan forest road is painted with deep autumnal hues.
