We were lucky and encountered some great tour leaders. We also experienced different weather conditions in Fairbanks. My advice is not to give up on the midnight aurora tour even if the weather is bad, as the aurora is unpredictable. The day we saw the most spectacular aurora directly overhead, it was snowing heavily during the day! The experience at Chena Hot Springs was also great. For our independent activities, we signed up for a glacier hike and dog sledding. The hike took a little longer to get to Denali and back, about an hour's round trip, with plenty of opportunities to take photos of the snowy scenery. It's suitable for people who enjoy exercise and physical activity, and I personally loved it. The weather was great on the day of the dog sledding trip, and the dogs were lively and adorable – highly recommended!
