You can board the bus simply by showing the QR code to the driver. However, there are limited bus services and seats, so you need to allow plenty of time. Since you have purchased the ticket in advance, you do not have a reserved seat, so you need to line up in front of the bus stop. (Those with time-slot tickets have priority.) Also, if you have a suitcase, the luggage space underneath is limited, so if it is already full, you will need to bring it into the passenger seating area. The journey takes approximately 3 hours. The first half is in the city, and the second half is on mountain roads. They seem to allow standing passengers, but I don't recommend it due to the steep slopes, continuous curves, and long journey. The driver's driving skills were excellent on both the outbound and return journeys. The service was also very good. The bus arrives at "Alishan National Forest Recreation Area Entrance". When entering, you just need to show the staff the same QR code you used when boarding the bus. Note that you will need to walk 5-10 minutes from the entrance to Alishan Station. If you're taking the bus to Alishan, this product is recommended because everything can be done with just one QR code.

The tour guide was knowledgeable whom brought us around Alishan forest to learn more on trees and history for 2.5 hours was good too. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

The trip was organised so well, to ensure we had the most time in Alishan our driver rearranged the stops a little. Which was great. It rained all day, but this didn’t dampen spirits. The area is amazing no matter what the weather holds. Lunch was great and the communication from the organisers before hand was perfect.
