Overall, I was very satisfied with this Kyushu day trip. The itinerary was well-organized but not rushed, allowing me to fully appreciate the charm of different attractions within the limited time. Our first stop was Yufuin, where the leisurely and tranquil atmosphere immediately put me at ease. The streets were filled with unique shops and delicious food, and the view of Mount Yufu in the distance made it perfect for strolling and taking photos. The overall environment was impressive. Next, we went to Beppu's Kamehameha Jigoku (Hellhole), where the geothermal landscape was spectacular. The various colors and shapes of the hot springs were a feast for the eyes, allowing us to directly experience the power of nature. The park's layout was clear, making the visit easy and smooth, and it's definitely worth seeing. Our final stop was Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, filled with a rich historical and cultural atmosphere. The approach to the shrine was lively yet elegant, and the architecture, gardens, and overall ambiance created a sense of peace and solemnity, providing a perfect ending to our trip. What we appreciated most about the entire trip was the service of our guide, Xiao Liu. She was not only professional and meticulous, but her explanations along the way were clear and engaging, giving us a deeper understanding of each attraction. She was also very considerate, constantly checking on the group members, assisting with photos, and reminding them of meeting times, ensuring a smooth and worry-free trip. Her kindness and enthusiasm made everyone feel very comfortable and greatly enhanced the quality of the tour. Overall, it was a fulfilling, well-planned, and relaxing day trip, with excellent choices in both the attractions and the service. If we have the opportunity to participate in a similar tour in the future, we will definitely choose it again, and we look forward to being led by Xiao Liu again to explore more wonderful journeys.
The itinerary was well-planned. We picked strawberries and tasted more than five different varieties, all of which were delicious. They also had premium White Snow strawberries available for purchase on-site at incredibly low prices. Since it was the weekend, many locals were picking strawberries and buying large boxes to take home. The Yanagawa cruise was comfortable and very enjoyable, highly recommended. The eel rice at any restaurant was delicious. Our guide, Wang Qi, was very helpful in taking photos at each attraction. The Tosu Outlet Park was huge and great for exploring. This is a highly recommended itinerary.
Our tour guide, Xiaoyu, was humorous and had beautifully done nails. She was very responsible and managed the itinerary well. Our driver was a skilled driver; he successfully reversed and entered the parking lot at Shiraito no Taki on his first try without missing a single spot. In the morning, we had just the right amount of time to play on the coconut tree swings and take photos at the Couple Rocks. After having Ichiran Ramen for lunch, we went to Dazaifu. Although it was Saturday and there were a lot of people, we still had plenty of time. Our last stop was in the evening when we took a boat trip on Yanagawa, which was very comfortable. The boatman was handsome and could sing very well. We had a great time all day!
The luggage space under the tour bus is usable; we brought a suitcase. There's no tour guide for this trip; the entire tour is guided by audio commentary on the app. The driver was very nice and held up signs at each stop to inform passengers of the meeting times. After the Yanagawa cruise, the lunch break is quite tight, and considering the distance to the parking lot, you might need to consider whether to have a proper meal or go directly to Dazaifu for a proper meal. The cherry blossoms at Kamado Shrine were beautiful.
1. You'll find the ticket counters shortly after exiting immigration at the airport. 2. Use Google Maps to check transportation options; it's very accurate and convenient. 3. Note that "Nishitetsu Tenjin" and "Airport Line Tenjin Station" are different—don't go to the wrong one! Look for station staff when entering and exiting the station. 4. Once you arrive at Nishitetsu Yanagawa, you'll need to walk to the boarding area (I saw a shuttle bus in a video), it's quite close, no need to worry. 5. If you want to eat at Wakamatsuya (eel rice, no reservations, but it's quick), consider taking the 9 or 10 am boat ride to catch your lunch. *Bring a hat, it can be quite sunny; consider using a phone strap if needed.* The boatman sings, but there's no boat jumping performance. 6. After eating, keep an eye on the shuttle bus schedule and walk to their designated parking lot to catch the shuttle to Nishitetsu Yanagawa. It's recommended to arrive 5-10 minutes early. 7. Next, go to Dazaifu. Remember to exchange your plum blossom rice cakes for umberg rice cakes. You can wander around freely; you can head towards Tenkaido Naga Shrine.
Our tour guide, Ms. Sun, was professional and considerate. Since the group members came from various countries, she switched between English and Chinese, which was truly impressive and made the entire trip very smooth. Due to the complicated transportation to Yufuin, I highly recommend joining the KKDay day tour.
My husband, who was also our guide and driver, was amazing; he managed the time perfectly! This strawberry farm is popular with Japanese families, highly recommended!! The eel rice in Yanagawa was also absolutely perfect!!
The package ticket is convenient, but finding the boarding point is a bit far, about a 5-minute walk, as different companies offer boarding services right outside the station. Both locations are worth visiting. The boatmen are polite and friendly, and the scenery along the way is beautiful. It's best to go on a clear day; late March when the cherry blossoms are in bloom is particularly beautiful. However, for those who don't eat eel, the selection might be a bit limited. Dazaifu is a rare lively spot in Fukuoka. Right outside the Nishitetsu station, there are many street food stalls to explore. The package ticket also includes a plum cake. Different stalls will tempt you to eat, drink, and shop. It's recommended to visit Yanagawa first, then go to Dazaifu in the afternoon. Don't forget to try the delicious shrimp cakes as a souvenir!
