This day tour includes visits to several key attractions. You will visit Ruru Park to enjoy the seasonal Kochia viewing, especially beautiful in autumn. The tour also stops at Senomoto Rest House where you can savor a comparison tasting of local Akagyu beef and Aso Bibuta pork. Finally, you will experience the charming Kurokawa Onsen village, known for its unique hot spring hopping experience.
The tour is specifically designed to coincide with the best time for Kochia viewing, which is typically in autumn. During this season, Ruru Park, one of the tour's destinations, features vast fields of adorable Kochia plants, offering a vibrant and seasonal landscape for visitors to enjoy.
On this tour, you will have the opportunity to taste local specialties from the Kumamoto-Aso area. At Senomoto Rest House, a highlight is the comparison tasting of 'Akagyu' (Aso red beef) and 'Aso Bibuta' (Aso beautiful pork), both prepared as ceramic plate grilling dishes. This allows you to savor the unique flavors of the Aso region.
The Nyuto Tegata significantly enhances your Kurokawa Onsen experience by allowing you to customize your visit. With this pass, you can choose and enjoy bathing in three different hot springs from a selection of options within the village. Additionally, one of the three uses of the pass can be redeemed for food or souvenirs, adding flexibility to your exploration.
Besides the charming Kochia viewing at Ruru Park, this tour is designed to showcase the broader autumn scenery of the Oita and Kumamoto regions. While specific details of other autumn foliage spots are not listed, the general landscape during this season typically features vibrant natural colors, creating a picturesque backdrop as the bus travels between destinations like the Aso region and Kurokawa Onsen.
This day tour primarily focuses on enjoying the autumn scenery, local gourmet experiences in the Kumamoto-Aso region, and the hot springs of Kurokawa Onsen. While the tour visits the Aso region for its culinary specialties, direct access to or a visit to the Aso Volcano crater is not included as part of this specific itinerary.
The tour is accompanied by an experienced tour conductor renowned for their hospitality, ensuring a smooth journey. The guidance provided during the tour is primarily in Japanese. However, the tour is popular among a diverse group of international travelers, and even those who do not understand Japanese well have highly rated the experience, indicating a supportive environment for all participants.
The Nyuto Tegata allows for flexibility in your Kurokawa Onsen experience, as one of your three chosen redemptions can be used towards purchasing local souvenirs or enjoying food and drinks. While the specific items available depend on the participating establishments in the village, this option enables you to bring home a memento or savor a local treat from Kurokawa Onsen.
