The 2026 Taitung Hot Air Balloon Carnival will be held from July 4th to August 20th. Stroll through the event venue and admire the colorful hot air balloons and the beautiful scenery bathed in sunlight. Ample time is allowed in the itinerary; optional tethered hot air balloon rides are available at your own expense, allowing for unforgettable photo opportunities.
An exclusive collaboration between Puyuma Travel Agency, I'm Playing with Refrigerators, and Dagula Handmade Goods is launching the Taitung Good Chill Slow Living Picnic Box Set during the hot air balloon season.
Hot Air Balloon Carnival Series of Events: This year's theme is "Giyukawa," and a picnic feast will be held on the grass.
(A picnic box will be provided for each individual; for two people, a double picnic box will be provided, plus a delicious picnic box wrapped in a handmade, hand-dyed cloth.)
Picnic ingredients are provided by "I'm Playing - Playing Refrigerator," a stall known as "Taiwan's most beautiful roadside stall." The ingredients include fresh fruits and vegetables grown by local mothers, as well as specialty foods and homemade bread. The freshness of the ingredients and the creative culinary designs amaze the guests!
The hand-dyed cloths are made by professional artisans at Dagula, a local shop in Taitung. Each cloth is unique. Carry your own cloth picnic box and picnic with family or friends on the grassy area of Luye Highland while watching the colorful hot air balloons.
If the above-mentioned restaurant is closed or unable to provide meals, it will be replaced with snacks from the well-known local bakery "Tianjian Bakery (formerly Yiri Handmade)" in Taitung. Each person will be provided with one snack and one "Taiwan LV Eggplant Bag" package, which is fashionable in Taiwan.
Picnic mats will be provided and will be collected after the event; visitors can also take photos at the venue and browse the surrounding market.

The minimum number of participants required for a tour is 2. If the number of participants does not reach the minimum required number, the tour will be cancelled, and a cancellation notice will be issued 3 days prior to departure.
If delays caused by force majeure events such as traffic or weather result in the cancellation of some attractions on your itinerary, please contact customer service and we will process a partial refund for you.
The driver and tour guide on the bus provide commentary throughout the journey.
The travel times listed in the itinerary are for reference only. The order of the itinerary may be changed depending on road conditions or the large number of tourists on holidays.
For ride-sharing service, you will be sharing a ride with other tourists. Pick-up and drop-off locations may be different. The pick-up time will be notified one day before departure.
If restaurants or attractions are closed, a service of the same standard will be provided as a substitute.
If you require a service dog to accompany you, please make a note in your order. We regret that we cannot accommodate pet dogs.
Infants under 2 years old are not included in the group size calculation. The tour fee for children aged 0-2 (inclusive) is NT$300 per person (please pay cash to the tour guide on-site).
The morning session on July 4th will feature a massive ball display, the closing ceremony on August 20th, and a light show concert every Thursday.
The light sculpture music concert and drone show on August 20th will incur an additional NT$300 per person (payable on-site to the tour guide), except for children under 2 years old.
The travel agency provides picnic mats for guests to borrow in the grassy area to watch the hot air balloons, which will be collected afterward.
This activity does not include the cost of a tethered hot air balloon experience. If you wish to register for a hot air balloon ride on the day of your visit, it is recommended that you queue at the registration area after arriving at the high platform.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations 31 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
- For cancellations made 22 to 30 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 10% will apply
- For cancellations made 11 to 21 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 20% will apply
- For cancellations made 4 to 10 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 30% will apply
- For cancellations made 1 to 3 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 70% will apply
- Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once your refund request is confirmed, KKday will initiate the refund to your original payment method within 15 days. The actual refund timing depends on your card-issuing bank’s policy.
