FAQs

Can you see whales?
Since starting whale watching in 2010, our shop has maintained an encounter rate of over 98% every year, and achieved a 100% encounter rate in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024.

What should I wear to attend?
The sea is particularly cold in winter, so it is recommended that you wear a windproof jacket and pants, a wool hat that is not easily blown away by the wind, and sneakers or other low-heeled shoes.

What if the weather is bad?
We will depart even in light rain, so it's helpful to bring some basic rain gear (we also offer raincoat rentals for a fee). In the event of adverse sea conditions, heavy rain, lightning, or dense fog, we prioritize passenger safety and may cancel the trip. In the event of a cancellation, we will notify you via the email address you provide the day before the trip. Please check your confirmation email's spam folder.

Will you get seasick?
The boat trip takes approximately 3 hours. Depending on the sea conditions, the boat may rock, so it is recommended that you take seasickness medication 30 minutes before boarding.

Will my clothes get wet?
This is a large yacht that can accommodate 40 people and features cabins and a second deck. Depending on the wave and wind conditions, your clothing may get wet. Please wear warm, waterproof clothing.

What will be the plan if no whales are seen on the day?
We do not offer refunds, but will issue a ticket for another date (valid until April 5, 2026). Our encounter rate in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024 was 100%, but unfortunately, we did not encounter some days in 2022, so the encounter rate is only 97%.
Although we are dealing with wild animals, we will do our best! Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

What do I need to bring for a whale watching trip?
● Seasickness Medication: Okinawa is often affected by the northeast monsoon in winter, resulting in strong sea waves. Even on cruise ships or large yachts, you will feel a noticeable swaying. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that participants take seasickness medication before the event to ensure a more comfortable journey. Seasickness medication is not available for purchase on site.
● Anti-slip camera strap: It is recommended to use a camera strap or mobile phone strap to secure the device to your hand to avoid accidentally slipping into the sea and ensure safety.
● Baby carrier: As the boat is easily shaken by waves, parents carrying infants and young children aged 0-3 years old must ensure that their children are secured with a baby carrier before boarding to ensure safety.

Purchase Notice

・Pregnant women and those who have been drinking alcohol are not allowed to participate. If they are found unable to board the ship, no refund will be given.
・In case of bad sea conditions, children aged 0-3 may be refused boarding.
・People in wheelchairs or with mobility impairments are not allowed to participate.
