  • Sumida River Fireworks Display

The "Sumida River Fireworks Display" is one of the two major fireworks displays in Tokyo. It is said to date back to the shogunate period in the 18th century and is the oldest fireworks display in Japan. The venue is divided into 2 locations to disperse the flow of people. Each firework festival will release approximately 20,000 to 22,000 fireworks, and will attract nearly one million people to watch. About 10,000 fireworks will be released at two venues respectively. Watching the fireworks explode high in the sky over the river is a special visual feast on Tokyo summer nights! This time, you will be able to enjoy approximately 10,000 fireworks setting off at the second venue.

The second venue is located between "Downstream of Komagata Bridge and Umbashi Bridge", and an estimated 10,650 fireworks will be launched during the period. Fireworks are launched from approximately 19:00 to 20:30.
