The 120 rule is a crucial safety guideline for recreational diving, suggesting that the sum of a diver's age and the maximum depth in feet for a single dive should not exceed 120. For instance, a 40-year-old diver should ideally not exceed 80 feet (40 + 80 = 120). While not a strict legal regulation, it's a conservative recommendation promoting safer diving practices by considering individual physiological limits. On Green Island, adhering to this rule, along with other PADI safety protocols, helps ensure a safe and enjoyable diving experience for all participants.
To obtain PADI Open Water Diver certification on Green Island, you generally need to be at least 10 years old and complete a medical statement. The course involves three main phases: knowledge development (often online or in a classroom), confined water dives (practicing basic scuba skills in a pool or shallow water), and four open water dives in the ocean to apply your skills and explore. Huoshao Island Diving Center provides comprehensive instruction to guide you through each step, ensuring you gain the necessary skills and confidence.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course requires a total of five adventure dives. These dives are designed to enhance your skills and confidence in various diving specialties. Two dives are mandatory: the Deep Adventure Dive and the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive. For the remaining three, you can choose from a range of options offered on Green Island, such as a Night Dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy, or Underwater Photography. This structure allows you to tailor the course to your interests while gaining diverse experience.
