Starting January 11, 2021, in order to implement the real-name registration system for ferry passengers, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has begun conducting identity checks on passengers on outlying island routes at the Tomioka Wharf (for details, please refer to the mechanism for prohibiting those under home quarantine and isolation from taking domestic sea freight flights). All passengers wishing to board the ferry must first have their ID cards checked and stamped by security personnel at the entrance of the waiting room before collecting their tickets, and then proceed to the window to check in and collect their tickets. Stamped verification is required for boarding. Each passenger must present identification upon check-in (domestic passengers carry their original ID card, and foreign passengers carry their passport or residence permit).

If the trip cannot be made due to force majeure (such as natural disasters causing traffic disruptions or typhoons preventing the shipping company from operating), the trip can be postponed for up to six months or a full refund will be issued after deducting a NT$100 handling fee.
