Xianxi Township

Xianxi Township's administrative division encompasses 8 villages: Dexing Village, Dingzhuang Village, Xianxi Village, Yupu Village, Gouna Village, Wenzai Village, Dingli Village, and Xiali Village. These villages comprise a total of 141 neighborhoods.

To drive to Xianxi Township, take National Freeway 3 and exit at the Hemei exit (Provincial Highway 61B exit), heading towards Shengang Township. Then, take the Western Coastal Expressway (branch line)/Provincial Highway 61B (Mei-Gang Highway), turn left onto Provincial Highway 17, then turn right onto Central Road Section 2/County Highway 138A, and finally turn right onto Hexian Road to reach the Xianxi urban area.

Xianxi Township is located in the northwest of Changhua County, near the Taiwan Strait. In 1920, it was named 'Xianxi' because it was formerly part of Xianxi Bao. It is speculated that this area was once the activity range of the Adong Society of the Pazeh tribe of the Pingpu people in ancient times. Historical records indicate that during the Kangxi era, this area was a river channel north of the Dadu River estuary. Later, due to the flooding and diversion of the Dadu River in the 57th year of Kangxi (1718), the landscape changed.

Changhua County's Xianxi Township has the geographical characteristics of 'wind's head and water's tail.' Historically, it was mainly agricultural and fishing with a simple folk custom, known for its 'Three Treasures of Xianxi.' Featured attractions include the Rouzongjiao beach, known as the 'Changhua version of Gaomei Wetlands,' which is suitable for bird watching, shell collecting, and digging for mud crabs, while also offering views of prominent wind turbine landmarks. Additionally, Xianxi has developed tourist factories and experience activities such as egg roll and biscuit academies, becoming a new local industry.

Xianxi Township is located in northwestern Changhua and is affected by the northeast monsoon. Due to its geographical location, sea winds carrying salt impact crop yields, making fishing and animal husbandry traditional important industries. The western coastal areas of Taiwan feature rich intertidal zones, serving as habitats for many bird species and attracting sea fishing enthusiasts. The large wind turbines standing along the Rouzongjiao coastline form Xianxi's unique landscape.
