[KKday Discount] Korea | Best DMZ Tour from Seoul with No Forced Shopping
2025/10/12
I think this is one of my favorite tours in Korea. It is great and you can see the history of South and North Korea. The number of people in the Chinese group is too small. There are only seven of us this time, so we have to combine with the English group in one car, so we can hear English and Chinese introductions on the bus. I really have to recommend it to all Taiwanese people. This tour must be taken. It will be one of the most worthwhile tours in Korea. We visited Imjingak Peace Park, saw the Freedom Bridge, went to the Dorawang Observatory, climbed the Third Underground Tunnel, and visited the DMZ exhibition hall, which showed a film about the history of North and South Korea. I also added a tour to visit the Gwangaksan Red Suspension Bridge. The entire day lasted from 7:30 AM to the end, arriving back at Hongdae Station around 3-4 PM. It was a perfect way to relax and then go shopping or do other things in the evening. I highly recommend it; the schedule was well-managed and fulfilling. I absolutely loved the buffet at Unification Village, and the bean-to-be-chocolate they sell is absolutely delicious. The tour guide mentioned that Unification Village has three treasures: rice, beans, and ginseng. So, while you're at the buffet, don't forget to buy bean-to-be-chocolate and six-year-old ginseng at the souvenir shop next door. The six-year-old ginseng is a premium variety, as they rotate the crops to preserve the soil's nutrients. And since it's a non-military zone, the farmland is completely unpolluted. I highly recommend buying some for your family! My favorite part of the entire trip was walking through the Third Underground Tunnel; it was so much fun! Walking through the tunnel was like being in a movie, feeling the oppression of war. Inside the tunnel, you can see some yellow paint on the walls, which are bullet marks. In order to confuse the public, North Korea said that they dug the tunnel for coal mining, and they deliberately painted the walls black. So when everyone entered, they would reach out and touch some black paint on their face to prove that they had been to the third tunnel. After all, you can't take pictures inside, so it was really an interesting experience! Finally, I highly recommend Guide Hong. Thank you very much for answering many of my questions. Because I woke up too early and my head was dizzy, I repeated some of the things he had said, but he never got impatient. I really recommend it! He also took a lot of photos for us, thank you very much! 😍
