I highly recommend this day trip. You don't need to worry about transportation, and you can easily visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine, Nara Park, and Todai-ji Temple in Kyoto. Todai-ji is truly magnificent and definitely worth buying a ticket to go inside. Feeding the deer in Nara is a lot of fun, and our tour leader, Hugo, was very attentive to the group and provided excellent itinerary explanations. Kiyomizu-dera was very crowded and lively, but luckily the weather was fantastic – blue skies and white clouds made for beautiful photos. We were also happy to leave Fushimi Inari Shrine, where it even snowed for a while.
Today's one-day tour of Sanzen-in Temple, the White Beard Shrine, the Floating Shrine at the Hikone Pavilion of the Lake Biwa Scenic Spot, and La Colina was quite enjoyable. Although it was very cold, the views were truly stunning. I was in a great mood, especially at La Colina, where there was both delicious food and beautiful scenery. Our tour guide, Casper, was very enthusiastic and responsible, and her explanations were very detailed. A good tour guide can truly enhance a simple trip.
