Join us for an engaging stroll to discover the true soul of the Serenissima, amid history, interesting facts, and hidden corners far from the most crowded routes.
Meeting point: Campo San Zaccaria, right in front of the splendid church dedicated to the Saint.
The tour begins with an introduction to the history of the Republic of Venice, the legendary Serenissima: we will talk about its origins, its maritime power, and the traditions that still make it unique today.
We enter the Castello district, one of the most residential areas, where we will have the opportunity to see:
- The Church of San Giorgio dei Greci, the first Greek Orthodox church built in the city, which has now become a symbol thanks to its characteristic leaning bell tower.
-Campo Santa Maria Formosa, dominated by the imposing church dedicated to the Saint and surrounded by some of the most beautiful Venetian palaces that belonged to the most noble families and famous Doges.
Then, together, we'll discover the house of the famous Venetian explorer, Marco Polo
and Campo San Bartolomeo, where the Rialto Bridge and the famous statue dedicated to Carlo Goldoni, the great Venetian playwright who lived in the 18th century, are located.
Once here, you can choose whether to continue the tour with the guide and return to Campo San Zaccaria (recommended for those who then have other tours starting from there) or you can choose another convenient location to stop on your own. Throughout the tour, your guide will be at your complete disposal to answer questions, satisfy your curiosities, and offer recommendations for restaurants, bacari, and activities not to be missed.
