  • This is a bus tour departing from Sendai Station that combines trekking on the Michinoku Coastal Trail with opportunities to learn, play, and eat. We have established four courses (A, B, C, and D) along the Michinoku Coastal Trail that traverses Kesennuma City and Minamisanriku Town. 【Course A】Touring the Minamisanriku Area: From Forest to Sea – A 2-Day Trip Exploring Reconstructed Towns and Future Regional Industries Follow the natural cycle from forests like Mt. Tatsugane to the sea (Shizugawa Bay/Tokura area). Enjoy plenty of learning and experiences, including a learning program at the Disaster Reconstruction Memorial Park and a cruise of Shizugawa Bay. 【Course B】Touring from Kesennuma City to the Motoyoshi Area: A 2-Day Trip to Trace Memories of the Disaster, Enjoy the Bounty of the Sea and Land, and Walk This course is packed with highlights, allowing you to experience the memories of the disaster, the nature of the coast, and the history of regional industries by walking from the center of Kesennuma City to the southern Motoyoshi area. 【Course C】From Karakuwa Peninsula to Kesennuma Oshima: A 2-Day Trip Walking the Peninsula Coastline and Staying at an Inn with Spectacular Views of Oshima An attractive course that involves walking the Karakuwa Peninsula and Kesennuma Oshima over two days. In addition to riding the Kameyama Monorail, which opened in July 2026, you will walk across the Kesennuma Oshima Bridge connecting Kesennuma city center and Oshima. 【Course D】From Kesennuma Oshima to Kesennuma City Center: A 2-Day Trip Walking Through Kesennuma, Connected by the Sea, Including Island Views and Port Town Mornings On this course, you will head from Kesennuma Oshima to Kesennuma city center. It is a fulfilling 2-day trip that includes a ride on the Kameyama Monorail and a tour of Kesennuma city, passing under the Kesennuma Bay Crossing Bridge.

  • 【Course A】Experience a learning program at the Disaster Reconstruction Memorial Park and Minamisanriku 3.11 Memorial. On the Shizugawa Bay cruise, the captain will explain oyster farming and disaster reconstruction. 【Course B】Visit the Great East Japan Earthquake Tsunami Museum with a storyteller guide. Learn about the industrial history of the Motoyoshi area at the Oya Mine History Museum, and learn about the bounty of the sea and the local salt-making culture through a salt-making experience. 【Course C】Listen to stories from oyster fishermen at the Kaki-goya Karakuwa Banya and learn about the local nature and history at the Karakuwa Peninsula Visitor Center. 【Course D】Learn about sharks and marine culture at the Ice Aquarium and Kesennuma Shark Museum, and experience new regional industries born from reconstruction through a tour of Black Tide Brewing (craft beer).

  • 【Course A】In addition to strolling through the Sansan Shopping Street, enjoy the view from the terrace overlooking Shizugawa Bay at the Minamisanriku Sea Visitor Center. Enjoy seafood dishes such as Kirakira-don and simmered conger eel rice bowls, as well as seafood cuisine at your accommodation. 【Course B】Experience the lush pasture scenery at Morland Motoyoshi and enjoy the natural charm of the Motoyoshi area beyond just the sea. In addition to seafood bowls and steak sets, the basic accommodation plan includes Kesennuma Horumon (grilled offal). 【Course C】Take the Kameyama Monorail to the summit of Mt. Kameyama. Enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Oshima and Kesennuma Bay from the Kameyama Terrace. Enjoy plenty of seafood such as grilled oysters at Kaki-goya Karakuwa Banya, seafood bowls at Shima no Ajidokoro Komatsu, and seafood cuisine at your inn. 【Course D】Start your trip by taking the Kameyama Monorail to the summit. In addition to overlooking Oshima and Kesennuma Bay from the Kameyama Terrace, we will guide interested participants to the Kesennuma City Fish Market to see the morning mist (Kiarashi) on the second day. In addition to seafood bowls and sushi featuring shark fin tasting, the basic accommodation plan includes Kesennuma Horumon.

Regarding Tour Cancellation:

  • The tour may be cancelled due to poor weather or other reasons. Please note that in such cases, we cannot provide compensation for travel expenses to the tour location.

Notes on Participating in the Course:

  • This is a trail of approximately 15 km. Participants must be able to manage their own physical condition.

Other Important Notes:

  • * In addition to the tour conductor, a trail guide will accompany you on the trail course for each route. * This tour is conducted utilizing Miyagi Prefecture's accommodation tax. As a condition of participation, all guests are required to complete a short survey after the tour. We appreciate your cooperation.

Reminders

  • Age range: 20-85 years old

  • Clothing and Gear: <Shoes> Please wear waterproof hiking boots, trekking shoes, or sneakers. <Backpack> A size that can hold all necessary items. <Outerwear> Waterproof, windproof, and breathable gear to protect against wind and rain. <Rain Gear> We recommend breathable rain gear that wicks moisture away from the inside, in addition to being waterproof. It can also serve as cold-weather protection. <Socks> Quick-drying materials. <Trousers> Useful for sweat management and protection against cuts. <Trekking Poles> For walking support. <Trash Bags> Please be sure to take all your trash with you. <Insect Repellent> To prevent bites from horseflies and other insects. <Bear Bell> A mandatory item for walking in mountainous areas.

  • Cancellations 21 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
  • For cancellations made 8 to 20 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 20% will apply
  • For cancellations made 2 to 7 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 30% will apply
  • For cancellations made 1 to 1 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 40% will apply
  • For cancellations made 0 to 0 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply
NOTE
  • Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy.
