Spanning over 1,000 km from Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture to Soma City in Fukushima Prefecture, this trail connects the Pacific coast of the Tohoku region and is one of the largest long-distance trails in Japan, fully opened in June 2019. Experience the natural landscapes of the Tohoku Pacific coast: Walk along the trail to admire the spectacular coastal terraces in the north and the unique ria coastline in the south, experiencing the diverse coastal scenery of the Sanriku region.

    Located at the highest point of Oshima Island in Kesennuma, the Kameyama Observatory is the best spot to enjoy views of the Sanriku Coast and Kesennuma Bay.   • Kesennuma Kiarashi (Sea Fog)

  • Minamisanriku SUNSUN Shopping Street
    A reconstruction shopping street created by local merchants, featuring a variety of restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops.     Located along the Sanriku Coast, Roadside Station Oya Coast is a popular rest stop for enjoying the beautiful Pacific scenery. The vast ocean views and blue sky create a picturesque setting.   • Kesennuma 'Umi no Ichi' (Sea Market)
    Located near the Kesennuma Fish Market, this is a tourist commercial facility that brings together Sanriku seafood delicacies and local specialties. The first floor features shops and restaurants selling fresh fish, shellfish, and processed seafood from Kesennuma Port, while the second floor houses a tourist information center and Japan's only 'Shark Museum.' Through life-sized models and exhibits, the museum introduces the ecology of sharks and Kesennuma's unique shark culture, making it a popular spot to learn about local seafood and the region's charm.
  • Kesennuma City Great East Japan Earthquake Memorial Museum
    Opened in 2019, this facility is dedicated to the Great East Japan Earthquake. The building preserves the former schoolhouse of the Miyagi Kesennuma Koyo High School. Combined with exhibition spaces, it uses disaster ruins and related materials to help visitors understand the impact of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake on the Kesennuma region and the local recovery process, passing on precious lessons in disaster prevention and memory.

② Start from 'Old Kesennuma Road Entrance' and hike to 'Minamisanriku Marine Visitor Center', covering approximately 7.53 km with a hiking time of about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
