The dishes are presented in traditional Sendai wooden boxes, each using fresh local ingredients and presented with exquisite plating, offering a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

【What is Sendai Tanashi (せんだいたんす)? 】

Sendai tansuna is a traditional craft of Miyagi Prefecture, known for its sturdy structure, the beautiful "kijiro-zuri" (wooden lacquerware) made of Keyaki wood, and the luxurious "tekki-gami" (hand-made metal fittings).

Originating in the late Edo period as storage furniture for samurai, it developed further during the Meiji and Taisho periods. Today, it combines three crafts: "sashimono" (a type of lacquerware), "lacquerware," and "metal fittings," making it a representative piece of furniture that combines functionality and artistry.
