Product Info

In a Moment, Fulfilling the Ordinary Heart - The Artisan Spirit of Lu Mei-li's Fine Carvings

At a glance, the works express their themes powerfully, condensing seemingly complex details into a captivating focus that leaves a moving impression on the viewer—this is the signature style of Lu Mei-li's work.

  • Wood Carving
Master Lu Mei-li primarily uses boxwood for her wood carvings. Her works are characterized by being carved from a single piece, without the use of lacquer or adhesives, with the surface finished entirely by knife work. Consequently, each piece takes an average of three months to over a year to complete. In her work, she strives for a layout that is elegant and simple, using this simplicity to convey delicate textures, insights into life, and modern artistic techniques.
  • Gold Carving
These works are primarily created using pure 999.9 gold. Unlike common methods such as electroplating, electroforming, or steel mold pressing, they are crafted using the 'exquisite lost-wax casting method' and 'hand carving.' By utilizing the malleability of gold to express nature, harmony, and rhythm, the works transcend the mundane to present the eternal artistic spirit of gold.
  • Copper Carving
These works are meticulously carved, transcending the ordinary to reveal an ancient, rustic, and delicate texture.
  • Liuli (Colored Glaze)
Often referred to as 'glass art' in the West, the raw material is crystal glass derived from natural silica ore combined with metallic elements. While artists typically use clay models and emphasize polishing, surface sandblasting, and vibrant colors, Master Lu's liuli works showcase three-dimensional knife work and delicate surface textures, representing a breakthrough in production technique.
