The Okinawa Sea Walk offers a unique underwater experience where participants wear a specialized helmet that allows them to breathe normally while walking on the seafloor. Unlike snorkeling or diving at the Blue Cave, which requires swimming skills and some comfort in the water, the Sea Walk does not require any swimming ability or prior experience. It provides a dry-head experience, allowing direct interaction with marine life without extensive training.
Safety is a top priority for the Okinawa Sea Walk. Participants are accompanied by experienced staff throughout the activity, ensuring guidance and support. Generally, participants should be in good health. There are typically age restrictions, often ranging from 10 to 60 years old, and certain health conditions like heart problems or pregnancy may prevent participation. Detailed briefings are provided before entering the water.
To preserve Okinawa's beautiful marine environment, participants are asked to follow strict environmental guidelines during the Sea Walk. This includes refraining from touching or disturbing coral reefs and marine life. It is recommended to use reef-safe sunscreen if possible. Always listen to the instructions of the accompanying staff to ensure a safe and responsible interaction with the ecosystem.
